Tabla Whatsapp Group
Ustad Sudarshan Singh Jee, our Tabla teacher has asked if teaching material could be shared with students in a group-chat. We are creating a Whatsapp Group for students/parents who would like to take benefit from this. Please note this will be an ADMIN only group and only sevadaars of the BGC TEAM will be able to send messages.
There is lots of information about ‘Whatsapp’ for parents online – the main privacy risk is that all other participants are able to see and have access to all the numbers on the group. We have no control over this. If you’d like for your child/yourself (on behalf of your child) to be added to this WhatsApp group please fill the form below.
Gatka
Background
Gatka is a traditional Sikh martial art which was started by Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. Later in the 17th century, Guru Gobind Singh ji, known as a master of weaponry, developed it further and made it compulsory part for a Sikh.
The word “Gatka” is of Indian origin and refers to a defensive weapon technique. “Mahan Kosh” edited by Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha, explains; “Gatka”- a three-hand span stick, is used to teach the first part of club fighting.
Bristol Gurmat Class offers Gatka as an optional class for students that attend the entire Gurmat Class session on Saturdays. Gatka runs between 1 pm-2 pm and is taught by Ustad Sukhmanbir Singh. To sign up for Gatka please read the following WAIVER and fill out the form below to give your consent for your child’s participation
We can confirm that our instructor and all of our students are insured by our martial arts insurance arranged by MAGB.
